Medical Minute: Men and Cosmetic Surgery

As humans, we all cherish the connections we have with other people. But sometimes with age and sometimes through birth, we are left with faces that convey messages that are inconsistent with the way we feel inside. This can effect both the way we feel about ourselves and the way we relate with others.

While women have traditionally been the ones to more readily seek help with aging changes in their bodies and faces, recently more and more men are seeking help for aging faces that no longer reflect their true selves.

One reason I find men are coming into my office is because of the workplace. Younger workers are competing with older men for work opportunities, and while older workers have the benefit of experience and wisdom on their side, the aging process can make them appear tired or older than they really feel. In a competitive environment like the workplace, if a person looks tired, they are often perceived as tired and less vital — despite that fact that they may feel quite energetic. Thankfully, there are easy options for men seeking help to remove an unwanted “tired look” and replace it with a refreshed and energetic look that better reflects how they feel inside.

The number one procedure I find my self helping men with addresses bags under the eyes, which immediately make a person look tired and drained. Using my laser techniques, I’m able to rejuvenate lower eyelid bags, eyelid Festoons and Malar Mounds and bring a man’s appearance back to a younger, healthier and more attractive state. If you have issues where your face isn’t reflecting the best you and you want to explore options for improving this, please contact my office for a consultation.
